Special Assistant to SVP, Industry Operations

EEI employees are required to work in office Monday-Thursday, and have the option to work remotely on Fridays.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO THE SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, INDUSTRY OPERATIONS:

Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Industry Operations (SVP), the Special Assistant to the SVP (Special Assistant) will serve as a strategic advisor and lead program and operational support for the SVP and the Industry Operations division. The Special Assistant will work directly with the SVP to advance the strategic and operational priorities of EEI’s members in the areas of preparedness and recovery, reliability, safety, energy security, cyber security, and military partnerships.

The Special Assistant works directly with the SVP to provide high-level executive and operational support to ensure alignment with strategic priorities and ensure the division is operating effectively and efficiently.

Other important responsibilities of the Special Assistant, Industry Operations:

  • Oversee daily operations in collaboration with senior managers and perform tasks such as aligning the SVP’s time with key business priorities, overseeing document management, planning and coordinating meetings, and track the division’s budget and contracts to support financial oversight and operational efficiency.
  • Develop processes and optimize organizational procedures for efficiency and productivity.
  • Oversee strategic initiatives, from development through successful execution, under the guidance of the SVP and Managing Directors.
  • Serve as a subject-matter expert, handling inquiries, developing action plans, and assisting with preparation and dissemination of communications.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Public Policy, or a related field; equivalent work experience accepted.
  • 5–8 years of experience in program coordination, program management, executive support, or association operations.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting executive leadership and managing complex calendars, communications, and meeting logistics.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Experience with budget tracking and coordination with finance/accounting teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and collaboration platforms (e.g., SharePoint, CRM systems, or similar tools).
  • Travel requirement: approximately 5–10% for committee and task force meetings, conferences, and conference planning activities.
