Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Director/Senior Director of Government Relations at EEI will play a critical role in advancing the policy priorities of shareholder-owned electric companies. This position will engage with Congress, the Administration, and key stakeholders to advocate on pivotal issues, including climate change, clean energy, transmission policies, electrification (with a focus on electric transportation), and energy storage. Additionally, the Director will support the Carbon-Free Technology Initiative through targeted outreach efforts and policy engagement, promoting clean energy solutions and ensuring alignment with federal regulatory standards such as the Federal Power Act, PURPA 111(d), and rail transportation policy.

Compensation
The salary range for this position is set at $130,000 - $200,000 annually. Starting annual salary will be determined on individual qualifications. EEI also offers an annual performance incentive which is prorated for mid-year start dates. This incentive is between 5%-10% of annual base salary, based on performance.

Office Protocol
This is a hybrid position which requires the incumbent to reside in the District of Columbia metropolitan area and come into the office a minimum of three days each week with two of the mandatory days being Tuesday and Wednesday.
